The first letter indicates caliber: "N" for 45 acp. The second letter indicates year of manufacture. I have been putting together a chart of the dates and code. By that chart, your gun was manufactured in 1988 or 1989. I purchased one in Nov. 2019. It was one of a batch that had bad barrels. At the time they informed me that the problem had been tracked to a certain number of barrels from one manufacturer. Bought a new TX22 compact online from reeds, had handled the full-size but wanted something smaller. After p/u at my FFL went home and field stripped to clean before initial range session (never went) . The barrel was so bad inside that I knew it would be a waist of ammo !
