Just purchased P365. The slide release is so difficult to hard to manipulate with just my thumb. Stuff! Is this normal on a new P365? I’m told by Sig it is normal and will eventually loosen up. Reinstalling make sure the take down lever is pointing down. If it moved just lift the slide lock back up to rotate the take down lever back down. You may have to completely reassemble the fcu. Although for me the issue was the sear was blocking the take down lever from going back in. So you may have to push down on the top of it to move it out the way. No matter how hard I push the slide release button down while pulling the slide to the rear it would not release with empty magazine inserted. Sounds like a misalignment. Flip up the slide lock and try to man-handle it off by moving it back and forth until it gives, just be careful not to bend it sideways. UPDATE- I got the slide off of the frame but the FCU and the slide are still together and still in the open position. Even pulling back on the slide to release tension, as long as that empty mag is seated it is hard-to-impossible to push down that lever to allow the slide to return to battery. FCU has to go back into WC grip with takedown vertical and so trigger first and back end with pin to lock it in. Then slide goes on with take down lever vertical and then you engage slidel ock to hold back slide then you pivot.I tried pushing up on that wedge-shaped doodad but it wouldn’t move at all. Also, while you may be right about the safety bar being bent, when the FCU is fully assembled, it seems to me that there’s no room for anything that is out of line to fit.
