The 592 is 13.5cc large in displacement. The 592 is to compete with the 661 not 500i, but I assume you already knew all that. And here is my 390 on a scale. After comparing the Stihl MS 500i vs 661, and using the 661 forin the fiel dextensively, I recommend the 661 as arguably the best chainsaw on th emarket. The 500i model has some nice technology and provides a lighter saw, but the 661 has never let me down. In terms of value, the Stihl MS 661 is a better choice. The 390XP developed from the 385XP. It has a side mount chain tensioner, weighs less than the 395, and shares some parts with the 372. It’s geared more towards falling and bucking with less oiler capacity and torque for long bars.
